CanT Login with Live Messenger 8.0

I can not login with the Live Messenger 8.0, the trouble shooting says
the default gateway appears to be offline, and the error code is
81000306.

I think it's because the gateway of my PPPoE connection to DSL is
0.0.0.0.
One of my friends who has a direct cable connection does not have this
problem.

Please Help Me Out here.

What can I do about the address of the gateway?

Many Thanks!!!

Re: CanT Login with Live Messenger 8.0

Upgrade to a later version of Windows Live Messenger. Microsoft designated
that version 8.0 or earlier is vulnerable, so users should be running 8.1 or
later.

Hello cnfelix,

Try out this one, works fine by me. Problem is the router not the Vista machine.

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Hi Cnfelix,

The latest released version of Windows Live Messenger is 8.5.1302.1018. You can get details and download it from here.

This should help with the sign-in error if it is still happening after the new version is installed.
