| | Question on Firewall Wonder if the built-in one way firewall is safe, compared to the two way firewall, such as ZoneAlarm, etc. The reason for asking this question is, I am not sure if I should allow some of the programs that ask for Internet connections. Any comments will be highly appreciated. |

Any comments will be highly appreciated. You can set Windows Firewall with a two way exception filter. If you are not sure, you can just block them. If it turns out that you need them, you can always allow them back through. Windows Firewall is a pretty good firewall when configured properly. | | Re: Question on Firewall Be careful with firewalls if you use your computer in a network. The Windows firewall causes enough problems connecting to other computers. Some of the commercial/free firewall programs can be an even worse nightmare. |

| | Re: Question on Firewall I find the built in Firewall in Vista enough for most persons security needs, its easy to configure and prevents incoming intrusions. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "User66" <user66@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:esv3lfkRIHA.2376@xxxxxx Quote: > Wonder if the built-in one way firewall is safe, compared to the two way > firewall, such as ZoneAlarm, etc. The reason for asking this question is, > I am not sure if I should allow some of the programs that ask for Internet > connections. (On a normal fresh loading caused no problem, but updating was a pain with ZoneAlarm. We have been using Sygate Personal Firewall for a long time, but that does not work for Vista). Thanks for your comments. |
