| Guest | Missing group policy editor I don't find gpedit.msc under my Vista (premium) and there is no related snap-in. Maybe is it not present in this Vista version? Thanks. Giovanni |

| Administrator | Re: Missing group policy editor Sorry, the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) is only available in the Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise versions. If there is something specific you want to do, there is a registry alternative to it. Just let us know what it is, and we will help. Shawn |

| Guest | Re: Missing group policy editor The snapin is actually lusrmgr.msc it is in Windows\system32. It may not be available in the Home edition but it is definitely a part of life in Business and Ultimate. Got to Windows\system32 and type dir l*.exe This will give you a list of all APIs beginning with l. The one in question should be one of them. Giovanni You might check in the "Run" and "RunOnce" in Method Three in this tutorial to see if you have a entry responsible for the installer restarting. It would not hurt to look through Windows Defender and MSCONFIG either. Startup Programs - Enable or Disable If you can post a link to the possible solution with gpedit.msc, then I can find the registry equivalent faster for you. Hope this helps, Shawn |
