Microsoft Messenger

i know that this isnt probably the right place to be asking this question,
but i recently got a new aser aspire laptop which has windows vista basic. i
have connected to the internet etc but whe i downloaded windows live
messenger an error message pops up saying 'windows messenger has stoped
working. a problem caused thi program to stop working corectly. windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available' then it just
closes. i have tried to download it again but the same thing happens. does
any one know if there is an easy solution that can fix this? also when it
closes a litle pop up message appears and says data excuation prevention has
closed messenger. can this be the problem?

Hi Josh,

I'm a bit confused. If you are getting a DEP error, then that seems to indicate that you are trying to run or install Windows Live Messenger (WLM). Does it give you a error number with that message to?

If you are just having trouble downloading WLM, then you can try and download it from here from one of the download options.

Re: Microsoft Messenger

For Acer Computers running MSN Messenger 8.1 and up . Here is the patch from Acer to fix the issue of MSN Messenger on their system

http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/for...ords=&areaid=7

For further help you will need to post your issues to the msn.messenger newsgroup

The only exceptions list available is for the firewall.

I think they are confusing that with UAC.
