Older PC games and Windows Vista

I have a Survivor Interactive PC game bought in 2001. I just bought a new
Dell notebook and am getting an error message "config.tx" and the program
ends. Any ideas? Also what is going to happen when I play the Sims games?

Re: Older PC games and Windows Vista

Try this..

Uninstall game...
Install to C:\Programs\Game Name (Not C:\Program Files\Game Name)

This has made many old programs work for me.

Good Luck

Robert

You can also try running the game in Compatibility mode to see if it will
work. Just right click the Game executable > click Properties >
Compatibility (tab) > Check the 'Run this program in compatibility mode
for:" for box and select an appropriate version of Windows the game is know
to run on.
