| | I would like to use my MS Works Suite 2001 with Vista. I installed the software (MS Works Suite 2001) on my new computer operating Vista. Works will not open its components. Is there a way I can use this software as I like most of its features and have used it for several years? -- cyrnos Close to Las Vegas but up I 15 115 miles, in red dirt country. |

The only thing I can recommend off the top of my head is to run the Works app in compatibility, right each app, click Properties > select Compatibility (tab) Quote: > under Compatibility mode: > check the box that says 'Run this program in version of Windows. | | Re: I would like to use my MS Works Suite 2001 with Vista. Andre, you better ask him detailed questions what he means by "will no open its components." Perhaps it is an UAC issue with permissions not being given to the folder. The MS Works is in Program Files, it is a privileged territory. When I copied wholesale my Sql Server databases from XP to Vista I had hell of a time figuring out what was wrong and was about to reinstall my XP in desperation but the resolution was laughingly simple. MSDN Forums people helped. I will bet a 100 dollars that MS Works is compatible with Vista. | | Re: I would like to use my MS Works Suite 2001 with Vista. You have to take into account, this is Microsoft Works Suite 2001, which I believe includes Works version 6, so there is a possibility of compatibility problems. I assume the components he is referring to is the Works Wordprocessor, Spreadsheet and Database for example. Again, he might get more detailed answers in the Works newsgroup. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "AlexB" <alexblai@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ulTPQIjSIHA.6036@xxxxxx Quote: > Andre, you better ask him detailed questions what he means by "will no > open its components."
