| | Delete Internet Shortcut I had some old favorites that I wanted to delete. When I did a search of favorites, I ended up finding a ton of internet shortcuts to these old favorites that I had thought I deleted. When I try delete these shortcuts by right click and delete, I keep getting the message "could not find the item. it is no longer located in "". Verify the items location and try again. When I click on try again, the same message keep poping up. How else can i delete these shortcuts? I also tried to rename the shortcuts and then delete them, however it will not let me rename them either. |

You may still be seeing them in the Index search results because the index has not fininshed updating itself yet. It only runs in the background slowly during low or idle running of the computer. You can force it to update itself quicker by "Rebuilding" it. This will show you how. Look towards the bottom. Indexing Options If you want accurate search results all the time, them disabling the Search Index and letting Vista default to using a non-indexed search would be a solution. Searching will just be a little bit slower in non-indexed mode. You can see how here. Index - Enable or Disable Shawn |
