Memory problems

I ran memtest and in the first 16 minutes it found 505880 errors. I know this means bad. But how bad is it?

Is there any way I can fix it other than replacing the 1 GB memory I installed there?

Thank you so much in advance.

Re: Memory problems

Hi,

It's bad, and there is no way to fix it beyond replacing it. If there are
multiple sticks, you want to rerun the tests with each stick individually to
isolate which one is the problem.

Their is a slim chance that a stick may have become unseated, you might want
to open the system and see if a stick is not fully seated or has come loose.

Re memory, there are no shades of bad. It is either good and installed, or
bad and in the trash can..

If you know what Memtest is and when to run it, then you don't
need any help from here, do you ?

bomb#20,

Jesus, you're one sarcastic SOB, aren't you? Not much help either. Your
statement wasn't exactly packed with advice. asiandoll was given the proper
advice by the other contributors to this thread.

Jane C, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Da Costa and Mr. Hall all gave the proper advice.
You contributed nothing.

Did I contribute anything of value to the thread? Probably not, other than
to state my opinion that you're a jerk.

Have a nice day.
