| | Windows Live Mail Can someone explain to me the difference between "Windows Mail" and "Windows Live Mail." I understand that MS released a new program called Windows Live Mail to replace the Windows Mail. Where can I go to download the new email program? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Live Mail You can download it from here. Plus, there is a link by the download where you can read up on all of the features if Windows Live Mail. Windows Live Suite Downloads Here's the basics: It supports Pop3, IMAP, HTTP website (EX: Hotmail) email, and is a lot more stable. Plus, WLM will minimize to a tray bar icon and has a separate Inbox for each email account. WLM will automatically import Windows Mail messages, accounts, and settings into it. Contacts will have to be manually imported from within WLM. (Tools, Contacts, File, Import, Address book for current Windows User.) To see the Menu bar, press ALT+M and check "Show all menus". These programs also seem to be in development so, for instance, the Windows Live version of Photo Gallery includes some new features and works better. I believe the WL mail client is a big improvement over Windows Mail, but I don't use either so have no personal experience of them. http://get.live.com/ -- Chris Game |

I have tried posting from WM and WLM but although my posts are marked as sent mail, they never appear. Any suggestions to be able to post from WM or WLM would be greatly appreciated. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Live Mail Ever since installing WLM I have been unable to post to MS Communities (I am posting this through Google because of the problem). I have tried posting from WM and WLM but although my posts are marked as sent mail, they never appear. Any suggestions to be able to post from WM or WLM would be greatly appreciated. I'm not familiar with posting to the newsgroups from within WM or WLM, but there is a setting somewhere to allow your posts to not be filtered out. You might post your question in the Vista Mail forum to get a answer for this. I hope you get one soon. http://www.vistax64.com/vista-mail/ Sorry, Shawn |
