Thanks Check to make you didn't leave a bootable CD or diskette inserted. If not, it would seem that the hard drive has died. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

| | Re: Operating System Not Found If the hard disk is dead, repairing is pretty much a waste of time, you could try getting the data recovered and backed up then install a new drive. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "gavtheunchav" <gavtheunchav@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7E6040E2-6BB7-4D06-A51E-C15231BED31D@xxxxxx Quote: > im pretty rubbish with computers. is it worth getting it repaired if the > hard > drive is dead? or getting another one on the guartenee? Looking like i may need a new > laptop.. Thanks Gav No, if it's just the drive that's died, you don't need a new laptop. The drive can be replaced, usually very easily. A new drive costs *much* less than a new laptop.
