| | Removing Office 97 from Vista A prosperuous 2008 to you. I've just done a full system restore of Vista. I wanted to install Office 2007, but when i did learned the version I had was an upgrade version and wouldn't install. I installed a version of Office 97 which I had been using on XP last year. I didn't think it would function in Vista, but thought I needed it to be the software from which Office 2007 would upgrade itself. The upgrade didn't work. So I want to Uninstall Office 97. It won't uninstall via the standard Uninstall method uisng Vista. It won't uninstall when I put the Office 97 disk back in (hoping to use any uninstall code that it might contain). I'd be very grateful for any suggestions how I can get Office 97 off Vista and out of my computer. Many Thanks. Tim |

| | Re: Removing Office 97 from Vista Try doing a reinstall then uninstall if you have the Office 97 install disk. If that does not work. Open back the Run Command type in MSCONFIG OK Under 'General' (tab) > Startup select 'Diagnostic Startup' Click 'OK' Restart when prompted Try uninstalling the Office 97 Professional then Open back the Run Command type in MSCONFIG OK Under 'General' (tab) > Startup select 'Normal Startup' Click 'OK' Restart when prompted -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry <t.behan@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:853d967e-53dc-4ba9-b35a-2cf69758b3f5@xxxxxx Quote: >A prosperuous 2008 to you. > > I've just done a full system restore of Vista. > I wanted to install Office 2007, but when i did learned the version I > had was an upgrade version and wouldn't install. > > I installed a version of Office 97 which I had been using on XP last > year.
