Re: how to manually index?

I don't know about doing that, but I turned indexing off on all my drives
since I almost never search for things using search anyway - I always just
open the folder I need and pull up the file. if you don't use search, there
is no reason I see for leaving indexing on. And from what I understand,
indexing just speeds up searching anyway - doesn't disable it.

Re: how to manually index?

If you leave your PC for a couple days to index the drive, the performance
will eventually get back to normal. I would leave it on to be honest with
you.

Re: how to manually index?

Well, you have to understand, if you have thousands of files, it will not
index everything in the blink of an eye.

It should be 'satire' for 'no more than half an hour'.

The view that it takes a 'couple of days' is an uncorrected fallacy that's
been perpertrating this group since its outset.

Hi Neerav,

This will show you how to enable or disable the Index. You may find that you like it disabled. This way all of your searches will be ran using the non-indexed search, and will be accurate.

Index - Enable or Disable
