| | How to disable 'Start Search' box on Start Menu? and I'm the one earning below average income. To what, then, are those 'Search...' check boxes referring? |

| | Re: How to disable 'Start Search' box on Start Menu? Hi, It's more than a search box, it's also a launch pad for any application, pages, etc., and replaces the run box used in previous versions of Windows. That option in the start menu properties dialog is for a separate "search" entry to appear in the right hand side of the start menu. The search line itself cannot be disabled. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "mataeux" <mataeux@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ED0B8645-9FEE-438D-9CAB-0979F26C1F2A@xxxxxx Quote: > and I'm the one earning below average income. > > To what, then, are those 'Search...' check boxes referring? > |

| | Re: How to disable 'Start Search' box on Start Menu? That's too bad because I had been able to launch frequently used programs with two keystrokes in previous versions of window. Now I can't. I'm so organized that I will never need to SEARCH for something - I know exactly where all my stuff is so I will never use that Search feature- what a shame. thanks for the reply!
