| | Google Preferences Won't Stick My Google preferences won't stick. I change them to what I want, then Save Preferences and they will be active as long as I am in the same session. But after closing my browser and reopening it for Google the preferences return to the default. This problem arose approximately one month ago; prior to that the preferences would stick. I have tried to solve it by deleting all my cookies and allowing them to reset in case they were corrupted, but that did not help. I am using IE7 under Vista and have it set to accept all cookies. Thanks for help. |

| | Re: Google Preferences Won't Stick OK- you're causing your own problem. The Google preferences are stored in a cookie. You might also want to check your browser, and see that it does not remove cookies when it exits. | | Re: Google Preferences Won't Stick Yes, I understand that the preferences are stored in a cookie. My browser is not set to remove cookies upon exit. I can see the cookies; actually there seem to be about 15 different cookies with 'google' somewhere in the file name; one of those cookies looks like it contains my preferences, but the preferences are not used the next time I invoke google. | | Re: Google Preferences Won't Stick Hi John, Move those cookies to another folder for backup and then delete the originals. Empty your IE cache through Control Panel. Start IE and reset your preferences in Google and see if this clears things up. -- All the best, SG "John Hanley" <jphanley@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OMY12XYUIHA.4880@xxxxxx Quote: > Yes, I understand that the preferences are stored in a cookie.
