Remote Assistance - XP Pro to Vista?

My son has just bought his first computer (Vista Home).

Although I have limited experience of Vista (am using XP Pro) would it
be possible to access his machine via RA to help him with some of the
basics?

You need to have Windows Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate.

However, any edition can be client.

IYou can also use a 3rd party product like TeamViewer. This product is Free
for non commercial use and can be downloaded from here

Yes,

I have an xp home and pro connected to the same home network as Windows
Vista premium. I use Eudora email to initiate the remote assistance
session. Doing so I can control any computer on my network from any other
computer on the network.

I've used Eudora to initiate control of computers outside my network. I
have never controlled a Windows Vista computer outside of my network but I
suspect it would work.
