| Guest | Missing(?) files in Vista Hi, I am having a little problem in Vista. Have a VB6 program that does some voice to text and text to voice conversion on my older PC running under Windows XP. It works fine in XP but not in my new Vista PC. Two smallish files Xlisten.dll and Xvoice.dll are missing in Vista. My questions are: Can I just copy the 2 missing *.dll files to Vista Windows directory, and register them mannually? Or are these *.dll files are just a bridge to something bigger that may also be absent in Vista? Thanks |

| Guest | RE: Missing(?) files in Vista Check at the program manufacturer's website to see if it is Compatible with Vista, and if not, if there are any updates to make it so. Failing that, right-click on its setup.exe>Properties>Compatibility>install it is XP SP2 mode. "Andre" wrote: Quote: > Hi, > > I am having a little problem in Vista. | Guest | RE: Missing(?) files in Vista Thanks for the hint Mick. Actually I found a solution by looking into the contents of the VB6 distribution package of my VB6 program and discovering that the 2 missing files: in the Vista PC; Xvoice.dll and Xlisten.dll are present with a bunch of other system files in the VB6 package. After installing the VB6 distribution package on my new Vista PC, both Xvoice.dll and Xlisten.dll files were properly installed and registered. Unfortunately, after my well functioning old VB6 XP Windows based program was converted to sparkling new VB 2008 Express Edition Vista compliant program, the conversion process awarded me with no less than 1412 errors and temporarily crippled my VB program.
