preventing the welcome center from showing

how do disable the welcome center from showing?
is this done with the file oobe.xml.
actually what i would like to do is start vista and start running
a custom shell (not explorer.exe) again would oobe.xml
be involved in that process or is there a "bigger" idea
that would cause vista to skip
the login screen, the welcome center and just move to running
the shell as designated by the registry entry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
\Winlogon]
"Shell"="Explorer.exe" (or something else)

thanks

Re: preventing the welcome center from showing

1. Start Regedit.

2. Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows,
CurrentVersion, Run.

3. Right click on the WindowsWelcomeCenter key and select Delete.

The next time you restart the Welcome Center will be gone.
