Easy Transfer Companion

I just ran ETC to move files from my SP laptop to a Vista laptop using the
cable. The transfer apparently went well, the screens said it did, but now I
can't seem to find any of the files or settings on the new computer. When I
started to rerun it I got an error message advising me not to. Any
suggestions?

RE: Easy Transfer Companion

Your original files are on XP; they were only copied to vista.

If you can't find them in vista:
In XP comp, burn your Data to CD(Use Nero so it is an easy transfer between
systems), or Memory stick, or External drive.

Manually redo your XP program settings in vista.
Reinstall your other programs from their Media, or download them, however
you acquired them..

RE: Easy Transfer Companion

Do you mean that it is not possible to transfer files and settings via the
cable? I thought the idea was to avoid having to burn a bunch of CDs.
