Failure w/ Vista laptop using Remote Desktop Connection To XP comp

I am trying to configure my laptop to be able to work on an office computer.
I was able to do this with my home desktop without a problem because both of
those computers were using Windows XP.

I have installed the VPN on the Vista laptop & I can connect without a
problem. However, when I lauch Remote Desktop Connection and I log in I get
the following error message:

"The remote desktop cannot verify the identity of the computer you want to
connect to. This problem can occur if: 1. The remote comkputere is running
a version of windows that is earlier than Windows Vista. 2. The Remote
computer is configured to support only the RDP security layer."

Does this mean that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a Vista computer to do a remote
connection to an XP Computer?

This does not mean that it will not work it just means that you need to click
"Yes" in the connect anyway box.

When I click connect anyway it tells me that the user name or password is
invalid when it is correct.
