| | Start Menu Icons On a Windows 2003 domain running both Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate and runnig folder redirection for roaming user profiles. Users signing onto the Vista boxes can't see their Start Menu icons (they are there but can't see them). I would guess that this is a permissions issue/ Vista security feature for Domain Users. For folder redirection to work between XP and Vista I redirected among other folders the desktop and start menu folders (each user has full rights to thier specific folders) through GPMC. The desktop icons are visable and XP boxes are working normally. If I were a betting man I would guess this is a Vista issue versus a permissions issue, since XP boxes are unaffected and since Vista has more than its fair share of bugs and headaches; espacially on a network. |
