| | RE: Windows Host Services has stopped working ok I've talked with a few people now and apparently this could be just about anything...GFG!! On my pc it's Microsofts own software, their new Windows Live totally screws up my pc so the simple answer for now is I just don't use their own product and have switched all my contact info over to Yahoo Not the best of solutions but as I can't even use an older version because now it won't let you (another brilliant idea from the minds at MSN) it appears there is no other choice "Scratch" wrote: Quote: > I see this is not an unknown problem but I also don't see any reply that > fixes the issue so I will post again. > > Problem signature > Problem Event Name: APPCRASH > Application Name: svchost.exe > Application Version: 6.0.6000.16386 > Application Timestamp: 4549adc4 > Fault Module Name: StackHash_842b > Fault Module Version: 6.0.6000.16386 > Fault Module Timestamp: 4549bdc9 > Exception Code: c0000374 > Exception Offset: 000af1c9 > OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3 > Locale ID: 4105 > Additional Information 1: 842b > Additional Information 2: f3f35b63b117920314b2c8c4811252cb > Additional Information 3: 9e14 > Additional Information 4: 3cbafeba48dee50f79837de362ed9748 > > Extra information about the problem > Bucket ID: 500355740 > > I am getting this error repeatedly and it is forcing a reboot as Windows > Explorer stops working. | | Re: Windows Host Services has stopped working This is a crash in the nVidia nForce Network Access Manager. Please ask them how to resolve this. I'm also interested in this. I believe the answer is: == SOLUTION is to uninstall by running the NAMSetup.exe on your Installation Disk. I had such trouble reading through these posts to find the solution, I decided to post myself. I just ran this file from my Motherboard install disk: \Drivers\Chipset\32bit\XP\Ethernet\NAM\NAMSetup.exe === , but it would be great if there was some official nVidia guidance on this. -- Speaking for myself only.
