    Michael,

The instructions aren't that great. For example says to delete the contents
of the EPG folder but then later says to delete the contents of the whole
eHome folder - I tried both and probably screwed the problem up worse. Also
it says to "turn off" Media Center Scheduler and Recorder service. I assume
they mean "Stop" the process and Media Center Receiver Service (there is no
Recorder). What should the default setting be of these two services - MANUAL?

Two file folders were not "downloaded fresh": FAVORITES and THMB. Don't
know how important they are so I kept them. THMB contained: frame extract,
meta update, QThumb, and SThumb - no idea what they do.

All in all, guide still won't download past 50% and recieve numerous ehRec
    crashes: 1884, 4428, 4608, 5008, 4984, etc. I double checked, date & time
    are correct.

    Any ideas?

    SUCCESS!!

    I followed

    http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/in...0383&forumid=1

I changed the permissions of the RSA folder and MachineKeys folder to allow
    everything FULL access.

I have not copied the key into the old folder. But have just downloaded the
guide and checked it and it looks fine )
