Vista Tutorial - EXTERNAL MONITOR KILLS POWER PLAN ON HP NOTEBOOK

For years I have had an external monitor connected to my HP notebook
running XP Pro. I just purchased a new HP Pavilion with Vista
Ultimate. Suddenly, the same external monitor disables my power saving
settings. Without the external monitor physically connected to the
notebook, the power settings work fine. The external monitor is using
a generic PnP driver. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would contact HP support. They are actually pretty damn good at getting
back to you. I have had to HP Pavillion laptops and the support has been
super!
