| | Can sleep mode overheat PC? I've noticed that when I use the sleep mode on my PC in Windows Vista, it turns off all the cooling fans (Including the one in the power supply) can this be bad? Is it possible that this could cause anything to overheat inside? I paid a lot for this machine, and I'd hate to have to replace it when I don't have the funds to do so. |

| | Re: Can sleep mode overheat PC? Hi, If it's obtaining a deep sleep mode (S2 or S3), then there should be no need for the fans to run. In those modes the cpu and most other components, save ram, are powered off. What you are seeing may be normal for your system. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "jasoncollege24" <jasoncollege24@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:48D1FBFE-D216-402D-9BCD-2622EB2C11BD@microsoft.com... > I've noticed that when I use the sleep mode on my PC in Windows Vista, it > turns off all the cooling fans (Including the one in the power supply) can > this be bad?
