    Aero Glass crash.

When i run certain programs (Azerus, InkBall game, and a few others) the
Aero glass UI shuts off, as if its trying to free up some resources. and as
a result i cannot play any Vista games or run certain other programs. Is
there a way i can shut this detection off? or maybe there is just an error i
    need to fix?

    Re: Aero Glass crash.

There is a similar bug on the setup group where Aero Glass causes a black
screen in an attempt to install ATI drivers.

The text of the problem is here: (You can go to that group to read the
thread). It was resolved by turning off Aero Glass).

    The problem is copied below.

I've just installed 5472 on a fresh partition. Whenever I try to do

You can download the MBC (the Microsoft Bug Reporting Client Tool via:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=43655 but for the public it's as
worthless as yelling at an NFL quaterback on TV on Sunday (NBC) orMonday
    Night (ABC) this season.

    Email this bug to nicholas.white@microsoft.com

    Email this bug to csnow@microsoft.com

Ask them to email it to the appropriate team.

    Hi Chad

is it better to use the "Microsoft beta Client" tool or to report directly?

    Re: Aero Glass crash.

    Hi,
    Check this out;
NOTICE: It seems that most, if not all, Java-based Windows applications
disable Aero Glass. This is only temporary and the effects are restored when
the program is closed. This issue has been fixed in the latest builds of
    Java 6
This may be worth looking into about Aeroglass; it solves alot of
    problems.
Java 6 is also Beta;and you want the JRE one;not JDK.
    You can get it here;

    http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/ea.jsp

You need to uninstall any previous version of Java;before installing
    Java 6.
It helped me alot with the problem of apps causing Aeroglass to turn off.

Re: Aero Glass crash. Use both

    Deebs

From what I've seen and read in following this Beta, I'd use ***both**. My
objective is simple. I know Vista pretty well, and have been using it for
months and I have watched bug after bug become congenitally transmitted from
generation to generation or build to build unfixed and unackowledged. These
are major not minor bugs. These have to do with fixing the OS, IE and
WinMail when they are broken. MSFT seems to be embracing the same policy of
the US government which is trying to intimidate news reporters at the New
York Times by selectively targeting them.

I find it remarkably disingenous that

    1) The public beta reporting tool that I found is buried like a needle in a
proverbial haystack and mentioned no where on their prominent Vista sites
where they gush about feedback when they mean we have started our ad
campaing by giving 2 million or so of you the CPP (Beta 2 and RC1 and
probably RC2 or any milestone build that follows in the road to a broken
    RTM.

    2) When I make the MBC publiic or give direct email addresses of MSFT
personnel (I haven't even used email addresses of the specific team members
but would if I saw an area that has been chronically broken build to build
like SFC in a post) I am using MSFT personnel who have sites specifically on
    feedback.

    3) I notice that the community jerk ( and jerkess because many are female)
who knows little about Windows, Office or their mainstream software, and
contributes nothing toward help and support of MSFT customers are knocking
the linksand constructive criticism or dissent off the server immediately
but they have left the porn ads on. This must mean that 1) they have very
tiny brains that don't tolerate legitimate criticsm 2) They want the porn
links to stay up so that they can reach them conveniently because they don't
trust their own skills to copy and paste them.

This group and setup are becoming littered with advertisements for
pornography but they seem to be fine with MSFT. So do the pornographic
lyrics on their MSN music downloads sites in the CDs that lead with pictures
for downloads to their target audience which includes children.

Very helpful info. Thanks Jeff. Java plugins have been causing a number of
problems with Vista features. Others have been threads on this group.

Use the MBC to report a reproducible bug. Use the "sentiments" link to
report your impressions and general comments.

Re: Aero Glass crash. Bug fate and list of status is where?

Really! And how does the reporter have any information on his bug's
treatment, or the same information you do on "this bug will be fixed in RC1"
(noting that you have been lied to by similar messages during the past 13
    months)?

Where is the list of bugs that have been fixed since the Beta launched that
is for public view? Where is the list of the status of bugs that have been
reported? The raw number may be high but the raw classifications of these
bugs would be easily reportable on a public site.

    Can't hear you Colin.

    Re: Aero Glass crash.

I have Glass turning off when running RealBasic which, AFAIK, is not
dependent on Java. It comes back on immediately on exit. Isn't a problem
    but it is a bug.
