Vista DVDs with integrated SP1

How soon after SP1 is finalized will the DVDs be available with SP1 already
integrated?
I want to get an Anytime Upgrade DVD and use it to clean install Vista
complete with SP1.

Re: Vista DVDs with integrated SP1

The Anytime Upgrade DVD cannot be used for a clean install.
You have to install the original Vista edition first.

Wrong, I purchased one the other day to test with (without SP1). All Vista
install discs are identical. I tested it with my System Builder OEM key and
it does work. It is possible to get these discs without buying an upgrade
licence (at least in Europe you can, not sure about US).
Do you know how soon SP1 discs will be available after final release?

Re: Vista DVDs with integrated SP1

Hi Brian,

There's been no detail as yet on that, though I suspect vendors as well as
Microsoft itself will allow the supply of "gold" disks to deplete before
restocking with SP1 disks.

It wil ltake a bit, first they have to "officially" release SP1, let
the inital problems die down to see if they need to fix anything, then
burn and distribute the disks. Could be a month or more after SP1 is
"officially" released.
