| | RPC Server is unavailable I've suddenly encountered network sharing problems I can't seem to get past. I get an error when trying to share files: The RPC Server is Unavailable. I've done the normal google and MS KB search and nothing I've found works. I can't think what I've done lately that would have an effect on this. I've even shut down the firewall which has done no good. This is something that happened only recently If anyone has any ideas, I'm willing to try it. Thanks Paul |

| | Re: RPC Server is unavailable Thanks for the info but, it appears the service is greyed out and I can't shut it down or start it up again. Is there some command I can run to do this since it's not accessible within the services menu? Oh, you have to run services.msc as Admin to change anything, but the service appears to be running anyway. ss. |

| | Re: RPC Server is unavailable I found 2 unfamiliar entries in startup....secure 16 & secure 32 which I unchecked and rebooted. I noticed also (didn't see this before) that both my workgroup name and computer name in the system info show as ' unavailable'. I can't even change the workgroup name.
