| | RE: No Safe Mode!! Hi Groltan, When you next start your PC, enter your BIOS (refer to the manual for details on how to do this, usually by pressing 'Del'). Check that the 'Boot Order' is set up to boot from CD/DVD first and hard disk second (if you have a floppy, then set that to boot up first and move the other items down in the boot order). Some people recommend that the hard drive is set up to boot first in order to shave a few seconds off the boot time, but the time saved is literally only a few seconds and it does make some system maintenance tasks difficult. Insert your DVD into your drive and select the option to 'Save Changes'. This will restart your machine, and, because of the change in boot order, your system will first of all start to load from DVD - or at least you will get a message saying 'Press any key to boot from CD...' (or similar). If you press a key at this point, the routine on the DVD will take over and you will be able to reinstall Vista. I believe that there is also an option to repair Vista, but I am not familiar with that option so if you want to use that option I'm sure that someone will be able to help you. Note that if you fail to press a key, the boot routine will drop through to the next item on the list, usually the hard drive.
