| | Re: Importing Windows Mail Ver 6.0.6000.16386 Hi Lyle, How you approach this depends on whether or not you can still load Vista on the system with the faulty power supply. If you can, then you can use the Easy Transfer tool. If not, then I would see about swapping hard drives temporarily to access the desired files. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Lyle" <Lyle@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:268CF6E9-3D06-40FB-AD3D-B04B2006E210@xxxxxx Quote: >I would like to import all of my emails, contacts & account settings from >my > exisitng laptop, which has a faulty power supply, to a new laptop which is > exactly the same (but the power supply works!) | | Re: Importing Windows Mail Ver 6.0.6000.16386 Hi Rick, Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly - much appreciated. The power fault in my laptop is linked to the battery so as long as I am plugged into the mains, as I am now, it works fine. Forgive me but I am a complete computer novice, where exactly do I find the easy transfer tool and should I link the two computers or burn the information to a disc (I have CD & DVD)? | | Re: Importing Windows Mail Ver 6.0.6000.16386 Hi, You can do either (network the machines or transfer to DVD), just type "easy transfer" into the start/search line to begin. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Lyle" <Lyle@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A9974F03-5249-4F9F-8E53-8966904463C4@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi Rick, > Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly - much appreciated. > The > power fault in my laptop is linked to the battery so as long as I am > plugged > into the mains, as I am now, it works fine.
