In case you didn't see the "Oops" thread I recently installed Ubuntu on
to a third partition, restarted and booted into Vista and then attempted
to restart to go into XP and then to Ubuntu. When restarting after a
successful boot into Vista I found the MBR to be buggered. The machine
went through POST and then got upset about something in the MBR and just
kept restarting and getting to this same point.

So I used fixmbr and got back XP and Vista. I still want to fix it so I
can triple boot but would like to know what wrecked the MBR and how I
can avoid it preferably without removing the XP/Vista drive.

Once I've done that I'll ask about seeing Linux partitions from XP/Vista
and vice versa :-)

Given that I have zero/zilch/I got notin' Linux experience except to curse
Lilo and Grub's bootloaders when they get in the way of trying to get into

Oddly enough that was the exact thing I used to install Ubuntu in the
first place.
