The sidebar.exe file is dated 01/08/2008 18:04. supposedly allowed Sidebar to block certain gadgets. I guess you could re-install that update if Universe_JDJ's method isn't the simple fix. Tom. |

| | Re: Sidebar loads 100+ gadgets on startup Thanks for answering .That doesn't work. The system freezes up after about the 4th removed gadget. The wireless mouse and keyboard don't work. Have to do a hard boot to re-start the machine. Right now I don't load the sidebar at startup and things seem to work ok. I think I need to delete/reinstall the sidebar files. If things get desperate I may do a system recovery... | | Re: Sidebar loads 100+ gadgets on startup Tom: Agreed. That sounds safer than a system recovery. At least its not sounding like a virus or something equally evil... thanks/d "Tom Allen" wrote: Quote: > > "D L Hess" <DLHess@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:689D5ACD-E641-4390-8502-1FBC83DF1F16@xxxxxx Quote: > > Anybody else have a problem with Sidebar loading 100+ Calendar gadgets > > during > > startup? | | Re: Sidebar loads 100+ gadgets on startup So did I. Jane C solved this in a 12/16/2007 post. Go to: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar You should find a file named Settings.ini The file contains the details of all the loaded gadgets. You can either go through the file and delete the duplicate entries or just delete the file completely and replace the gadgets. I did it each way - either way works fine. r/dennis "Proudly giving full attribution - I sure wasn't smart enough to figure it out" "durinsbane" wrote: Quote: > > am having same problem, however i cant delete any gadgets as it crashes > after clicking to delete just one > > > -- > durinsbane > |
