File extension

Can anybody help?
Whenever I need to save any attachment from Outlook or any program, I have
to type the file ext. like .pdf or .doc after the file name otherwise the
default is ALL FILES. If I forget to type the ext. it will save as unknown
and the next time I open that file, it
cannot identify the file ext.

RE: File extension

Change your Folder Options by UNchecking Hide File Extensions of known types.
Open Control Panel, Tools, Folder Options, View.

Hi HL,

Make sure that your file extensions are set to SHOW in Folder Options. When you type in the file extension, it should be saved with that extension now.
