Backup/Restore often are matched pairs, or two parts of the same program.
Generally, so long as you are using both from the same set, you should be
able to restore from any media to any media. But you probably could not use
Vista's Restore for files backed up with Apple's Backup, for example.
Just be SURE that you can restore whatever you've backed up before you
delete the files. Backup without a compatible restore is really pretty
worthless, isn't it?
