Vista - Monitor Issues

My monitor is flashing from normal to dark as if the brightness control has
issues; never had this problem until I installed Vista beta 2? Please
advise............

Vista build 5384, I'm running dual ADM athlon MP 2600 +, 500 gb HD, 1gb
memory, Radeon 9600 series video adaptor. My internet is slow, sleep mode is
very slow. and my monitor is dark, sometimes I can't even see to read.
