| | User Account Control I am new to vista. I would like to run an unattended backup but it gets held up by the user account control. Is there a way to allow specific programs to pass the user account control automatically without having to disable the entire user account control. Thanks, Don |

| | Re: User Account Control To be perfectly honest Don, I don't know what UAC does that is not accomplished by having anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall programs. My position is as long as it doesn't hurt and I can avoid the annoying prompts I'll continue to have it enabled. Maybe there is someone here who is knowledgeable enough to explain what UAC does over and above anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall programs.
