Epson V500 Scanner

Recently installed an Epson V500 scanner. Worked great for two days. On day
three, the preview function would not work. Epson support had me check the
device manager, uninstall the software and download a new driver from the
web. Nothing! They now maintain that it is a Vista problem. Any ideas?

Re: Epson V500 Scanner

I don't know what to tell you Ike. It's funny we just purchased one also
and it has been working fine for the last week or so. I do notice the scan
to PDF function just hangs but since I have a psuedo-PDF printer I just use
the scan to printer and print to the PDF printer. Other than that it seems
to work fine. I assume you uninstall the software with the scanner
disconnected and don't reconnect the scanner until after all the software is
installed. I find that plugging the scanner in before hand causes it to
load a bogus driver that does not get replaced with the software install if
it is installed after the scanner is plugged in.

Re: Epson V500 Scanner

Yeah, been there, done all that. I have already given up. Scanner will be
picked up by FexEx tomorrow. HP scanner will be delivered to me shortly
there after.
