| | RE: Disable IPv6 in Vista I would be interested in why you want to disabe it. (actually Vista does it already, by putting it's IPv6 packets inside IPv4 packets with a device 'hidden' by device manager called a "Teredo Tunneling pseudo-interface ") (ipconfig /all) You are probably seeing the expected 'status' dialog for the lan saying "IPv6 Limited" and are thinking that that is why your router is slow. But that's a guess. If so, there is a fix. Set the Properties of the Ethernet device to a speed that is fixed, like 100 mbs/half duplex. Restart. -- Was this helpful? | | Re: Disable IPv6 in Vista not a good idea, the first addresses are being released this week making use of IPv6. if you disable it these internet addresses will not be available to you. is there some reason you feel the need to have it disabled. mikeyhsd@xxxxxx "Ken Lau" <kenkenlaulau20@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:15EE71A4-72AD-4431-B8E1-764A08B54B15@xxxxxx How to disable IPv6 in Vista? Quote: >if you disable it these internet addresses will not be available to you. I'm sure there are some around now, but very few people have them. And once you had them, you'd have to have an IPv6 capable network: routers, DHCP servers, web servers on the other end, etc, etc...
