| | How to customize context menu? Windows XP offers the user the ability to customize the right-click menu for any file extension through the Folder Options / File Types dialog. Programs, arguments and switches can be specified for any chosen action on a given file type. However, I have been unable to find any comparable feature in Vista. It offers several ways to set the default action for double-clicking, but there seems to be no way the user can customize the right-click menu with other actions. Does anyone know how to do this in Vista? If it is necessary to hack the Registry, can anyone point to a useful reference on this particular issue? I'm not even going to ASK why Microsoft chose to hide or eliminate this very useful feature. Thanks. David |

| | Re: How to customize context menu? Hi David, Unfortunately, this is not possible natively as the "File Types" tab has been removed in Windows Vista. If you want to add/edit verbs or modify file type association, you may use one of these utilities.
