Use system restore. Hopefuly you imaged before installing. The warnings were as easy to see as the download was to find. You will probably need to reformat.

I've been able to just uninstall service packs before with no problem. This should be no different. I do hope reformatting is not my last option. To many games to reinstall.

You installed RC or beta and those have bugs. Uninstalling can be one. There are a lot of people that put betas and RCs on their systems looking for solutions to problems that were caused by other issues then the ones that are getting fixed in the final release of SP1.

Your probably screwed unless someone has come up with a uninstaller app that is capable of removing it. Like the Norton removal tool.

Consider using a app like Acronis. You could have imaged your drive before installing a beta app. Then when the final is released or you need to uninstall for any reson. you just run Acronis and revert your system back to before you installed the program. It does work for x64. I'm living proof.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully someone will have a simple solution so I don't have to go through with all this reinstalling. So I'll be waiting and hoping. Maybe I need to uninstall some of those other updates after installing sp1 rc to get this sp1 rc to uninstall.

If I knew for sure that reformatting and reinstalling was my last option, I would go ahead and do so. I cannot believe their is no other solution to this. I will wait a few more days. Maybe someone will have answers. Reformatting and reinstalling, is just an easy answer to this problem. It's just a service pack that needs to be uninstalled and seems to get stuck during removal.
