| | Shortcut Highlights When i point to a Desktop Shortcut, a translucent tectangle appears, However, when I move the pointer, it disappears, if moved to a blank area for to a new shortcut if I am ponting there. My probmem is if I use the Shortcut, and open the window, all is fine BUT when I close the window, the Shortcut is still highlighted. it will say that way until I click the mouse. This is annoying as it nver use to do this and I cannot find the setting to put it back the way it was. Note: SYSTEM RESTORE will not help, as this occuted after reformatting my Hard Drive, thus no restore point before this problem. |

| | RE: Shortcut Highlights That is the way my VISTA Home Premium works as well as Ultimate. It has always worked that way. Also so does my XP Pro except for the translucent part. In XP it just stays highlighted. -- Paul "Ward" wrote: Quote: > When i point to a Desktop Shortcut, a translucent tectangle appears, However, > when I move the pointer, it disappears, if moved to a blank area for to a new > shortcut if I am ponting there. > My probmem is if I use the Shortcut, and open the window, all is fine BUT > when I close the window, the Shortcut is still highlighted. it will say that > way until I click the mouse. > This is annoying as it nver use to do this and I cannot find the setting to > put it back the way it was. > Note: SYSTEM RESTORE will not help, as this occuted after reformatting my > Hard Drive, thus no restore point before this problem. > |

| | RE: Shortcut Highlights I rechecked the effect and I stand corrected. If I open the file, the highlighting goes away, however if I left click an open area of the screen, the highlighting of the icon returns momentarily. > |
