Need help with display driver error

Vista Home premium with all updates and ATI Radeon 1900 with the latest
drivers

Good afternoon, I am trying to install a second LCD monitor and both
monitors are connected to the DVI ports on the card. When I try to change
settings on the monitors I get the following error:

"The currently selected display driver can not be used. It was written for a
previous version of Windows, and is no longer compatible with this version
of Windows. The system has been started using the default VGA driver"

I have the latest ATI driver/software installed (8.1) plus I tried
uninstalling the driver, cleaning with Driver Cleaner Pro and reinstalling
however the error remains. In the catalyst control panel there is nothing I
can change to help with this issue.

Any suggestions on how to deal with this problem I will be grateful for

Thanks
