| | Pre-Installed Vista Business 32bit to 64bit Afternoon all, Quick question. I recently bought a Dell computer that came with the 32-bit version of Vista Business pre-installed. I'd like to 'upgrade' to the 64-bit version and am wondering what routes I can take to get there? I have tried to use the online upgrade to request a 64-bit CD, but it says my product key is not valid. Any help appreciated! Jeff. |

If you had wanted 64-bit then you should have ordered this from Dell at purchase time. You could try contacting them and asking them if they will provide a 64-bit DVD but they are not obliged to . Also note that replacing the OEM operating system will result in you getting no support form Dell for your device. -- Mike Brannigan |

| | Re: Pre-Installed Vista Business 32bit to 64bit This can be a good reason to not buy Dell! Anyway, Dell will be happy to sell you the upgrade, and may be able to provide a very competitive price. OEMs support OEM versions of Win software, MS supports retail & other versions purchased directly from MS.
