| | Re: Recovering mail from the Recycle Bin In Control Panel | Folder Options | View I went ahead and enabled show hidden files and unchecked 'Hide Extensions for Known File Types'. Is there some other option to show file extensions that I could enable? However, my Recycle Folder is totally empty and does not show the missing e-mail files, with or without any extensions. Help - I am in panic mode now, since I lost a lot of e-mails and my boss is screaming murder! "Mark L. | | Re: Recovering mail from the Recycle Bin I'm more than willing to be corrected, but as far as I know deleted mail is permanently deleted and never goes into the recycle bin in the first place. Where it goes, I've no idea, but this has been the case with Windows previously, and is not new in Vista. This is why you get the second warning asking if you want to delete the items permanently. | | Re: Recovering mail from the Recycle Bin Look at: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail There might be a WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file you can rightclick to 'restore previous version' This might also be available in a less used user ID. -- Was this helpful?
