How do you use the Password Reset Disk?

Running Vista Home Prem.
I've created a password reset disk on a thumbdrive.

Vista Help gives the following instructions on the use of the 'disk':
"To use your password reset disk to reset your password:

You will not be able to follow these steps if you have locked your computer.

If you have typed the wrong password, you'll receive a message that says
your user name or password is incorrect. When this message appears, click OK.

Click Reset password, and then follow the instructions."

I wanted to test this procedure, so I created a Standard acct for this
purpose and verified that I could login into it. Then, following the
procedure from Help, I purposely typed the wrong password; clicked OK on the
msg. But....then what? There is no place on the account login screen to
click reset password. Where is it? What have I missed?
Thanks,
JohnDavid

Re: How do you use the Password Reset Disk?

You haven't missed anything. You should see the password reset box below the
password input box, after the failed password , and OK. If you don't see it,
the system has some broken component.
Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows Vista may stop
