Vista - Copy and paste not working anywhere in Vista at times

Every now and then, I lose my ability to use copy and paste functions
throughout Vista. I have tried copying files and pasting into the same
folder, but the past option is disabled. I cannot copy text from one
document to paste into another document. I did notice that when this problem
starts, I get an error message when I try to copy from Excel: "Cannot empty
the Clipboard."


The only solution is to reboot. I cannot see any relevant programs running
to kill. I have seen in other support forums a suggestion that this may have
something to do with remote desktops - and to kill the rdpclip.exe program,
but that does not apply in this case.
