| | Vista's Windows Calendar & 'notification area' / 'taskbar' Hi all, I just discovered Vista's Windows Calendar -- is there a way to make that work with the calendar that shows up via Vista's 'notification area' / 'taskbar'? For example, I would expect to be able to click a day in the taskbar's calendar to see that day in Windows Calendar. Likewise, I would expect days with scheduled events in Windows Calendar to show some sort of visual cue in the taskbar's calendar. Any ideas how to get the Vista taskbar calendar to be aware of Windows Calendar? On a somewhat related note -- I like Windows Calendar because it seems to throw a notification alert regardless of whether Windows Calendar is open. Is there a way to get Outlook alerts if Outlook happens to be closed? Thanks, -Scott |

| | Re: Vista's Windows Calendar & 'notification area' / 'taskbar' It's a good suggestion, though I'm not sure everyone would approve of it. I kind of prefer to look at an appointment-free calendar, at times. As an option it might be ok, though. Anyhow, you're better off making those sort of suggestions directly to Microsoft, rather than in this group. You can always put a link to Windows Calendar in the quick launch section of the taskbar - which is just as many clicks (ie 1) if you have your mouse preferences set up that way. -- Jon "turnstyle" <turnstyle@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:67e60f47-ebf6-43f0-9b1a-473419b03e99@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi all, I just discovered Vista's Windows Calendar -- is there a way > to make that work with the calendar that shows up via Vista's > 'notification area' / 'taskbar'? > > For example, I would expect to be able to click a day in the taskbar's > calendar to see that day in Windows Calendar.
