We have tried to install Vista SP1 on a Vista Ultimate Micron PC. We have
uninstalled McAfee, we have turned off all of the automatic starting
programs, we have run scannow, we have run check disk -- But no matter what,
we do we contine to get the message the installation is un-successful with
the message number 0x80070020.

We were able to get SP1 to work on another system, but this is a real
mystery on this machine.

Is there any way to find out where it failed? Does anyone have any other
suggestions?

There is no need to uninstall protection software, just disable it.
