windows updates causing problems

hey, i'm having trouble accessing any web pages anytime after windows runs an
update on my computer: the browser opens but won't connect to any sites.
I've tried restoring to an earlier point in time but this doesn't go back far
enough to correct the problem. When windows update is turned off it works
fine but of course i want the update facility left on and my computer to
work when it is! i've scanned for viruses etc,all clear.can you help?? (i
have windows vista hp).

RE: windows updates causing problems

Change your Auto Updates to Notify you when Updates are ready to be
downloaded; instead of automatically downloading and installing them.

You can then right-click on the offending update> hide it.
