    Vista and Permission Denied

I have a new computer with Vista. Some old software that I used extensively
ran well on XP. When I loaded it on the Vista machine and accessed it, it
opens fine. There is a data base associated with it and when I try to select
different parameters from the data base I get the following message: 'Network
Initialization failed. Permission denied. File C:\PDOXUSRS.NET Directory C:\'

I have tried to remove security from this file but I still get the same
    error message.

Unfortunately the company that made the program is no longer in business.

Does any one have any idea what is causing this message and is there any
thing that I can do so I can still use the program?

In Safe Mode (F8 on restart) you can create a shortcut to the app, and set
the Properties of the shortcut (advanced button on shortcut tab) to 'run as
    administrator'
