| | Cannot Send Messages via Windows Mail I have used Outlook successfully as my email client for several years. Even though I knew that Outlook really doesn't "like" more than one profile on the account, I have successfully used up to 3 profiles in the past. I started having problems with one of the profiles as it did not want to "forward" mesages. SO, I removed two of the accounts and prepared to put them on Windows Mail. I started with one account and have never been able to get it to send messages. I can receive but not send. I used the very same parameters that I use with Outlook. I have contacted both my domain carrier (Go Daddy) and my ISP. Both of them say I have everything set correctly and that it has to be Windows Mail. Does anyone have any advice as to what my problem is? Thanks very much! |

| | RE: Cannot Send Messages via Windows Mail Thank you very much, Mick & Dave, for your help. I just figured it out! As I had stated, we use "Go Daddy" for our domains and I have always used their server for both our incoming and outgoing messages. When doing so, I have to change the outgoing port number to 80. When the messages wouldn't send using Go Daddy's server, I tried to set it up using my ISP's outgoing server. They STILL wouldn't send and that's when I became frustrated and asked for help. Well, guess what? I had forgotten to change the outgoing port number back to 25. As soon as I made the change, all messages were sent immediately. By the way, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are the same client.
